Hello, future colleague!

Join Us as Health & Safety Coordinator – Construction Site

Are you passionate about construction safety? Do you have the technical acumen to identify risks before they become incidents? At Safety Approach, we’re growing our team and we’re looking for someone like you — someone who doesn't just follow regulations but lives and breathes Health & Safety on construction sites.

‍👷‍We’re Hiring: H&S Coordinator for Construction Site in Vatra Dornei, Suceava County

As part of our dedicated on-site H&S consultancy team, this role is all about being present — physically, mentally, and professionally — right in the middle of the action, on the construction site at Vatra Dornei. You’ll be the right hand of our H&S Manager and the key point of contact for our client when it comes to keeping people safe, procedures sharp, and projects compliant with Government Decision no. 300/2006 and all relevant national legislation.

Are you based in the Vatra Dornei area? Then this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a real impact — not only by enforcing standards but by shaping a strong, proactive safety culture.

📌Quick Facts

  • Job Title: H&S Coordinator | RO – Vatra Dornei, Suceava County.
  • Position Summary: You’ll be actively supervising the operations carried out by the client’s contractors on site, identifying occupational hazards and risks of injury, evaluating safety-critical activities, and ensuring the construction processes are both legally compliant and practically safe.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing (Yes, It's Hands-On!)

This is not a desk job — it's about being where the work happens, and you will:

  • You'll lead H&S activities during both design and execution phases, making sure everything aligns with Romanian and EU safety legislation for temporary/mobile sites.
  • You'll perform risk assessments and root cause analyses, recommending both immediate and long-term corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits, supporting compliance and continuous improvement.
  • You'll organize induction sessions, coordinate first aid/fire safety trainings, and empower the workforce through practical, clear guidance.
  • In the event of an accident or near miss, you'll lead investigations and implement preventative strategies.
  • You'll keep all H&S records up-to-date, from COSHH assessments to emergency plans and fire drills.

💡What We’re Looking For

We’re not just looking for a certificate holder — we’re looking for someone who understands how theory meets reality on a construction site. Here’s what success looks like.

Your Experience & Expertise

  • Experience in Health & Safety roles on construction projects — preferably in complex, multi-contractor environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Romanian health & safety legislation (especially HG 300/2006) and practical application on-site.
  • Comfortable preparing and reviewing risk assessments, H&S plans, and method statements.
  • Previous involvement in incident/accident investigations and ability to advise on improvement plans.

Your Skills

  • Strong communication — you can speak the language of engineers, architects, contractors, and regulators.
  • You’re methodical, but you adapt quickly when the site reality shifts.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office; bonus if you're familiar with digital tools for site documentation.
  • Excellent English — both spoken and written.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or Forestry Sciences.
  • Completed the 80h or 120h Occupational Health & Safety training course, in line with Romanian regulatory requirements.
  • Certified in fire safety: Completed the 136-hour Technical Staff with fire safety and firefighting responsibilities certification (equivalent to international Fire Marshal / Fire Warden level).
  • H&S Coordinator Certification: 90-hour training program for candidates with higher education, or a 60-hour training program for those with secondary education, combined with a Construction and Public Works Technician course.
  • A full Category B driving license — essential for on-site mobility.

📍Job Details:

  • Location: On-site, Vatra Dornei, Suceava County
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (9h/day)
  • Type: Full-time contract
